So I made another DK Album!

I realize the album is releasing on 1.11.2026, but the truth is that it has been finished since mid-November. I wanted both of my DK albums to be done by the end of the moon cycle following 2025’s Halloween. I was hurt around the time of the full moon, and I now sit on the morning of the following new moon writing this passage with two finished albums that I believe tell the stories of the pain I went through and the healing process I’ve tried to embark on in its wake.

I had worked on DK Tropical Dream to process and repair, but the truth is that I didn’t feel better by the end of making it. I still felt called to pour my heart into my music, and, well, I listened to my soul and whatever spirits have been guiding me through the BS I’ve had to deal with. The result of that is this album, Donkey Kong Liminal Freeze! Where Tropical Dream was a journey into the watery depths of self to explore pain and heartbreak, Liminal Freeze is the journey out of those depths back towards the light of the sun.

I’ve represented this in my music by making the album follow a sonic journey from the winter & alpine levels of Donkey Kong towards the savannah and jungle levels. Quite literally a movement from cold energy back to the warmth.

Special thanks to the original artists, but especially David Wise who has created the soundtracks and sounds of the Donkey Kong series. I’ve always believed his music to be hidden gems, and it was a lot of fun to mash it all up with Diva pop. Hope it can put a spotlight on em!
